Keds and Payless are creating eco-friendly collections in honor of Earth Day – April 22nd. Both lines will be focused on fashion first, with the green element being a great environmental bonus. As LuAnn Via, president of Payless ShoeSource, puts it “it’s visibly chic, effortlessly hip, and invisibly green.”
Both lines, Keds’s Green Label and Payless’s Zoe and Zac, will debut next month. Keds’s collection will include a boat shoe-inspired slip-on as well as a classic sneaker and will be available at Nordstrom and select stores for $55. Payless’s collection will be priced under $30 and consist of wedges, sneakers, ballet flats, and sandals.
Both Keds and Payless shoes will use recycled rubber, organic cotton, and nontoxic dyes.
