New York Fashion Week, Fall 2009: Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson served up a colorful palette with his Fall 2009 collection.  But then again the British designer wasn’t dubbed the king of color for using bland colors.  Bright tangerine marked this collection with varying shades of blue, neutral taupe, and metallics thrown in for good measure.  The zigzag weaves, ombres, Navajo prints, and embellished necklines were offset by refined, polished silhouettes.  As for the accessories, Williamson used a lot of brightly dyed fox furs stoles and animal print shoes.  My fave of the collection is the white shift dress with the tribal beading detailing around the neckline.

Matthew Williamson did what he does best – colors and prints made sexy.  After seeing this collection, I’m even more excited for his upcoming collaboration with H&M.
